The book Divergent by Veronica Roth is a fantastic book for young adults and adults. It follows the frequent topic of a dystopian society. In the society, there are five different sections which they call factions in the book. The main character is a young girl named Beatrice, or Tris, who at a certain age has to pick which faction to go to. She may either stay in her own faction, Abnegation, where things are boring and dull, or choose a new faction which would change her life forever. She would never see her family again and would have to get used to a whole new lifestyle. It's a very tough choice for Beatrice. One she knows will change everything. And you'll never guess which one she chooses!

I would strongly recommend this book to readers who liked The Hunger Games by Susanne Collins, the Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld and The Giver series by Lois Lowry. These all follow a common theme. Also, there is a second book to the Divergent series called Insurgent and a third coming soon called Allegiant.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares is a fabulous book filled with friendship, love and happiness. In my opinion, it has a little something for everyone...sports, traveling, family issues, love...! It switches perspective of four different best friends who have to spend their first summer apart from each other. Lena is in Greece, Tibby is staying at home, Bridget is at soccer camp in Mexico and Carmen is visiting her dad.The four come in all different shapes and sizes yet magically fit into these one pair of jeans. They believe that the pants will bring them good luck wherever they may be so they pass them on from friend to friend as the summer goes on. It's a very realistic story that I recommend for all girls! And, if you like it...there's three other sequel books to it too! Also, a movie was made if you like those book/movie stories. I have also seen the movie and I'd say that the book is definitely better but I still enjoyed watching the movie as well!

How to Ditch Your Fairy by Justine Larbalestier,
is a great book for girls ages 13-15. It has a great plot, and it is very funny! I don't know about you guys, but I love funny books! And what's not a good book without drama? There is totally a lot of drama and friendship and every little thing in between that makes a book so good. I think this is an easy read and you all will get connected to it all very quickly. Enjoy!

We recently had to read The Giver by Lois Lowry in Language Arts.  I have never been a fan of books that teachers make us read in class, but this book was actually really good! It is an easy read for me but for some of you it may be difficult. You really have to think about this book. The authors goal was to make you stop and think about what's on the page. It was a good book and I think you should try it! And be sure to check out the sequal, Son.

Twilight, by Stephanie Meyer, was a very interesting book. This is not my kind of book but for those who are into the vampire-werewolf love triangle, then this book is for you! It is a 498 pages and it was a pretty easy read if you are the kind of person who can sit down and stay with a book. I didn't like it because it was confusing in the middle and I didn't like how it was written. Personally I wouldn't continue the series, but I heard they where good. Just not my type. And the plus side is that if you can't finish it, there's always the movies!

Deep, Dark, and Dangerous is a very good book by Mary Downing Hahn. It may be an older book, but it is still good. This book is a ghost story and a very easy read. About 5th grade level and not very many pages (little over 100). It's not too scary but if you are a person who doesn't like spooky stories, then don't read it at night. Because even I got a little chill! Enjoy it!

Airhead by Meg Cabot, is an amazing book. It is a book for teen girls who like a little bit of everything in a story. Its got mystery, drama, and of course love! Em (the main character) finds herself in a bit of a situation when something strange happens to Em and famous model, Nikki. I really enjoyed reading this book also because even though the main plot isn't realistic, it's the little things in the book that could happen to any teenage girl like me. And personally, those are the kind of books I like best :) Also it's not very long (337 pgs.) So if you have a busy schedule, this is a good rainy day kind of book. Hope you love it as much as I did!
